What are the Five Pillars?
Teen Moms 2 Beyond partners with other organizations and the community to build stronger families. We believe it takes a village to raise a child, and we are committed to engaging in community partnerships, educating generations, and empowering families.
Our approach centers on teaching young mothers and their families about the five pillars: self-care, time management, money management, and personal and professional development. These pillars are the foundation of our mission, as we equip them with the skills and knowledge they need to navigate successfully as women, mothers, and future professionals.
Self-Care
(Priority)
It is important that you make yourself a priority. Are you taking care of yourself? How much sleep are you getting? Are you eating healthy? Are you enjoying life? If not, it’s time to make some changes because if you aren’t 100%, nothing else works.
Time Management
(Efficiency)
Managing your time well alleviates a lot of stress and increases your efficiency. The less stressful you are, the better able you are to care for your child and yourself. Learning to manage your time will minimize feeling overwhelmed.
Money Management
(Currency)
Learning to manage your money is critical to preparing a future for you and your child. If you don’t manage money, it will manage you. Your best future is one you create with a solid financial foundation. Start here. Start now!
Personal Development
(Identity)
When you look in the mirror what do you see? A failure or someone on their way to their purpose? To be successful, you must first know who you are and then empower yourself to succeed while allowing yourself to fail. That requires that you grow and evolve mentally, emotionally, and spiritually.
Professional Development
(Competency)
Honing your skills is one of the steps to a successful future. No matter what career you want, you will need to enhance your skills. Be a role model for your child and demonstrate that perseverance means the only thing that can stop you is you!
